Solid Waste and Recycling

To begin your garbage service, call the City's Customer Service number: 575-541-2111. Or visit the Customer Service window at City Hall (700 N. Main St. Las Cruces, NM 88011). *For senior-discount information, scroll to the bottom of the page.

Here in the Pueblos, our weekly garbage day is Tuesday.

To ensure pick-up, your container needs to be in place by 6:00 a.m. Roll it to a flat surface at the curb or edge of the street—not on the sidewalk. (The Utilities Department is very insistent upon the latter point.)

Please be sure the container's handles and wheels are pointing away from the street. To allow access by the automated equipment, containers should not be within six feet of other dumpsters, parked vehicles, trees, mail boxes, etc.

Grappler (Large Item Pickup)
  The Grapper will pick-up only ONCE per month.
The Grappler will pick up normal garbage items which are too large to fit into the Garbage Dumpster. All items must be either bagged or tied in a bundle. Check the Pueblos Calendar to see when the Grappler comes to the Pueblos:

Recycling
Our pickup day is every other Tuesday. Please have your blue recycle Dumpster at the curb by 6 a.m. and removed by 11:59 PM that evening. Check the Pueblos Calendar to see which weeks are recycle weeks.

*Seniors over 60 may be eligible for a Solid Waste senior-citizen discount (although not if you have more than one container). To apply for this discount, go to the Customer Service Department at City Hall (700 N. Main St. Las Cruces, NM 88001).You will need a photo ID and something that shows proof of age.
